Window Displays
At least once a month, West End Lane Books compiles a thoughtfully-themed selection of titles for display in our window. In the past, certain display themes proved so popular that we were forced to transform them into solid sections inside the shop.
Perhaps some of the most interesting and best received window displays themes have included Japanese Literature and Culture, Graphic Novels, New York and the Beats.

Football World Cup Window (Books 4-4-2 You)
The story goes that after England's second abysmal performance in South Africa—against Algeria—Fabio Capello was forced to change his phone number, because 4-4-2 1-1 0-0 wasn't working properly any more.
And, in fact, most of the other matches in the tournament up to that point had been poor spectacles.
But it's a game of two halves, and now that the group stage is over the second half should get really interesting.
Already, several surprise results have underlined the fact that football is now a truly global game (despite the fact that in some quarters they still insist on referring to it as soccer), and this is reflected in the totally international range of titles in our window.
So keep watching the beautiful game but whatever you do, don't kick the reading habit.
