Since its opening in 1994, West End Lane Books has provided a thriving, intelligent and enthusiastic service to local residents and visitors alike. Our attractive and often quirky window displays have drawn much attention and admiration over the years, showcasing some of our finest stock from across the world. Inside, both our poetry and sale sections rank among the highest rated in the capital.
Since the relaunch of our website in 2008, we have been hosting regular events with locally based and (inter)nationally esteemed poets and authors.

About us at West End Lane Books
West End Lane Books, established 1994, is an independent bookshop in the heart of West Hampstead. We carry a general stock of over 13,000 titles, and can order over 400,000 titles for the next working day. We also carry a very select sale stock, can order books from America within a week, and will trace out of print items to order. Our customer service is our speciality, so please use the contact details given to see if we can help you at all, whatever the nature of your book needs.
As well as serving our community as precisely and faithfully as we can, with an excellent children's section, and the best and latest top-notch general stock, we also provide much interest to bibliophiles from further afield. We stock over 1,000 imported titles, including many that are probably exclusive to us in the whole country! We specialise also in deluxe and literary books, and have both a deluxe editions section, and a large and overflowing poetry section, which has a reputation amongst the cognoscenti as one of the best in the country.
We work very hard to create and maintain what we believe is the best choice and service available for bookbuyers, and we hope that what we have to offer makes us well worth a visit, whether from near or afar!
There are many ways of getting to us, as West Hampstead is blessed with the best transport links in North West London, being 13 minutes on the Jubilee Line from Bond Street and 8 minutes from Kings Cross/ St Pancras on the Thameslink. It is also on the Overground, and therefore quickly accessible from all over North and West London, and is served by three regularly running buses.
